The company made a profit of €3.7 million in the first half of 2022, which contrasts with losses of €22.9 million in the same period last year.

Ibersol closed the first half of this year with a profit of €3.7 million, representing a 116.2% improvement compared to the €22.9 million loss recorded in the same period last year, according to the company in a statement sent to CMVM.

Despite a half-year start “marked by the Ómicron variant that caused a slowdown in the pace of recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic” and the impact caused by the war, Ibersol’s turnover grew 79.5% to €242.1 million, compared to €134.9 million in the same period last year.

Restaurant sales rose 79.4% to €236.7 million in the first six months of the year, being the driver of Ibersol’s business, while merchandise sales rose 96.2% to €4.5 million and the provision of services added €0.4 million.

EBITDA increased 50.8% in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year, to €37.6 million. The company also notes that the uncertainty caused by the war “led to a disruption in supply chains, accelerating the escalation of inflation in food products, energy and transport, with consequent impact on the decline in consumer confidence and Ibersol’s cost structure,” reads the statement released Tuesday.
