CEO says TAP’s weight in domestic economy is ‘impressive’
"The weight of our company in our economy and collective heritage is impressive," announced Christine Ourmières-Widener this Monday.
The CEO of TAP on Monday described the company’s weight in the domestic economy as “impressive”, noting that these are times of change.
“TAP is celebrating 77 years of life today, a life marked by ups and downs, joys and not so good days. They are all part of the memory of who we are. The weight of our company in our economy and collective heritage is impressive,” said Christine Ourmières-Widener, who was speaking at the opening of the exhibition commemorating TAP’s 77th anniversary at the Air Museum in Sintra.
For her, these are “times of change”, with a new route “towards a sustainable future” that makes everyone proud.
Ourmières-Widener also stressed that on this date they have chosen to honour the company’s history, “made up of pioneering, daring, resilient and unique men and women”.
For her, these workers paved the way for others and continue to do so safely every day.
The future of the company is also made of “memory” and so she thanked all the workers who are or have been part of the TAP universe.
“A special thank you to the Air Force, to all the TAP teams, to the volunteers who worked for the museum, and to all those present and absent in the TAP family. Thank you very much. I hope to see you all soon on board our TAP Portugal,” she concluded.
