The Brunswick Group, which has factories in 24 countries and employs over 14 thousand people, will expand its industrial unit in Vila Nova de Cerveira, adding 5,200 square metres of area.

The North American recreational marine products maker Brunswick will strengthen its presence in Portugal and expand the industrial unit located in Vila Nova de Cerveira. Its conclusion is scheduled for June of next year.

The project, awarded to the Portuguese construction company Garcia, comprises the expansion of Brunswick’s facilities through the construction of a new industrial building.

The new building will aggregate a total area of 5,200 square metres, of which 4,000 square metres will be used to support production and 1,200 square metres, on the upper floor, will be used for administrative and social areas.

Besides the new industrial building, the northern construction company is carrying out some improvement works in the existing facilities, with the aim of optimising Brunswick’s production processes and facilities.

A Partnership born in 2012

This is the second project that the Portuguese company developed with Brunswick, reinforcing a partnership that began in 2012, when Garcia Garcia handled the reconstruction of one of the industrial buildings of the Portuguese subsidiary’s complex.

“This project, which reflects the dynamism and competitiveness that Brunswick Portugal has been revealing, aims to ensure an efficient increase in installed capacity, geared towards consolidating its market leadership,” highlights Miguel Garcia, manager of the construction company.

The North American Group, with a turnover of $1.9 billion, employs 14,382 people, has factories in 24 countries and exports to over 170 markets.
