Consumer price inflation in November estimated at 2.6%

Compared to the previous month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is estimated to have risen 0.5%, as it had in October.

Consumer price inflation in Portugal accelerated to 2.6% in November from 1.8% in October, as the index rose 0.5% on the month, according to a flash estimate released on Tuesday by Statistics Portugal (INE).

“Based on the information available until the date of the present press release, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) annual rate is estimated to have increased to 2.6% in November 2021 (1.8% in October),” the statement reads.

According to the INE, core inflation – which excludes energy and unprocessed food products – was 1.8%, having been 1.1% in October.

As for energy products, inflation was estimated at 14.2%, up from 13.4% in October, while the estimated rate for unprocessed food was 0.8%, contrasting with minus 0.7% in October.

Compared to the previous month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is estimated to have risen 0.5%, as it had in October.

According to the INE, average annual inflation over the last 12 months is estimated at 1.0%, up from 0.8% in the previous month.
