Pedro Castro e Almeida reappointed CEO of Santander Totta

The general meeting of shareholders approved the new corporate bodies of Banco Santander Totta for the period 2022-2024. Pedro Castro e Almeida and José Carlos Sítima were reappointed.

The new corporate bodies of Banco Santander Totta for the three-year period 2022-2024 were approved by the general shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday. Pedro Castro e Almeida and José Carlos Sítima were reappointed for another term as chairman of the executive committee and chairman of the bank’s board of directors, respectively.

There are changes to the Executive Committee with the departure of Inês Oom de Sousa to lead the new Santander Portugal Foundation, which will have €22.5 million for projects in social and green areas. On the other hand, Ricardo Jorge has joined.

Isabel Mota and de Andreu Plaza are leaving the Board of Directors. João Pedro Tavares and Cristina Alvarez are joining it. José Carlos Sítima remains the chairman of the Board.

“The entry into office of the newly elected members of the governing bodies is dependent on the European Central Bank’s assessment, as part of the fit & proper process,” the bank said in a statement.
