Portugal reached 70% of the population with the full vaccination against Covid-19, the health minister, Marta Temido, said on Thursday, emphasising the achievement of the goal before the deadline set by the vaccination task force.

In an interview on SIC TV, she said that it was already expected that during this week the 70% threshold would be reached and stressed that confirmation was given on Thursday by the coordinating team of the vaccination plan task force, led by Vice Admiral Gouveia e Melo.

According to the latest vaccination report from the country’s national health authority, the DGS, released on Tuesday, the country recorded 66% of the population with the complete vaccination scheme until last Sunday.
