Lisbon Metro reports €57.1M losses in 2020
According to the information sent to CMVM on Monday, the Lisbon Metro recorded a loss of €57.1 million in 2020, a figure which compares with a loss of around €16.9 million.

According to the information sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) on Monday, turnover stood at €67.5 million, down from €120 million in the previous year.
In turn, operating income fell to €114 million, when in 2019 it had been €159.2 million.
Operating expenses were down from around €149 million in 2019 to €147 million in 2020.
In this period, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was negative by €6.6 million, whereas in 2019 it had been positive by €38 million.
Metro’s operating result fell to negative €32.7 million, down from €10.2 million in 2020.
In 2020, the group contracted €203.8 million of debt and amortised €274.7 million.
Quoted in the document, chairman Vítor Manuel Domingues dos Santos, indicated that in this period, marked by the pandemic, 90.6 million passengers were carried, 93.2 million fewer than in 2019.
