€1B in T-bills auctioned for lowest yield ever

Demand today reached €2.17 billion, 2.17 times the amount placed.

Portugal today auctioned €1 billion, equal to the maximum overall indicative amount, in 12-month Treasury Bills (T-Bills), with yields falling to all-time lows, it announced.

According to the page of the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency (IGCP) on the Bloomberg agency, at 12 months €1 billion was auctioned in T-bills at an average yield of -0.594%, an all-time low and lower than on 19 May, when the same amount was also auctioned at an average yield -0.536%.

Demand today reached €2.17 billion, 2.17 times the amount placed.

IGCP had announced for today a BT auction maturing on 22 July 2022 (12 months) with a global indicative amount between €750 million and €1 billion.
