Portugal Bank BPI sees 10-fold increase in profits to €60M
Bank recorded profits of €60.1 million in the first quarter of the year, an 850% increase on the €6.3 million profit recorded in the same period last year.
Bank BPI on Monday announced first-quarter profits of €60 million, a tenfold increase compared to the €6 million reported in the same period last year, the bank told the market today.
According to a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), BPI registered a consolidated profit of €60 million in the first three months of the year, €54 million of which related to the activity in Portugal.
According to the bank, operating income grew 17.1% compared to the same period last year, and the ‘core’ efficiency ratio improved to 57.1%, with increases also recorded in total customer resources and deposits.
