660 new cases and eight deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 660 new cases.

There are 660 new cases of coronavirus compared to Tuesday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 828,857. Eight people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 447 inpatients, 116 of them in intensive care units (ICU). There are over 18,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 16,931 people, eight of them in the last 24 hours.
