Three more deaths, 390 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

390 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been identified in the last 24 hours. Three people died with Covid-19.

Portugal’s Directorate-General for Health (DGS) identified on Wednesday 390 new cases of infection by Covid-19, bringing the total number of infected to 58,633. The number of deaths rose to 1,827 after three more deaths were counted in the last 24 hours.

In regional terms, the Northern region has again concentrated the largest number of new infections, surpassing the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, which has concentrated the greatest concerns. Of the 390 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, 184 were registered in the North, followed by Lisbon, which accounted for 168 new infections.

As for clinical characterization, most of the infected are recovering at home, with 337 being hospitalized (13 fewer than the previous day), of which 41 are in intensive care units (one less). There are still 33,914 people under surveillance by the health authorities.
