The amount solicited by Portugal is only behind that requested by Italy (27.4 billion), Spain (21.3 billion), Poland (11.2 billion) and Belgium (7.8 billion).

Portugal has requested 5.9 billion euros under the SURE programme, a sum still awaiting approval from Brussels.
