in May “we won’t live as we did until February,” says Portugal’s Prime Minister
The Prime Minister reiterates that by the end of April we will have "maximum containment" in the country to stop the coronavirus outbreak.
Portugal’s Prime Minister admits that next month the containment measures imposed in the country due to the new coronavirus pandemic could begin to be relieved, but warns that “no one is under the illusion that in May we will live as we did until February.”
By the end of April “we will have maximum containment,” said António Costa, as he left a meeting with the Cardinal-Patriarch of Lisbon, Manuel Clemente, in televised statements. After that period, “we can begin to ease measures.”
Costa had already stated that in May, if the outbreak develops as planned, they could reopen kindergartens and small businesses. Even so, the Prime Minister pointed out that “we will have to live with this virus until there is a vaccine, which is not yet on the horizon in the coming months.”
