Liga Nos and Liga PRO suspended over coronavirus threat
1st and 2nd division matches are suspended indefinitely. The official confirmation has been given by Benfica.
Liga Nos and Liga PRO games were postponed indefinitely, as a way to avoid the contagion of the new coronavirus. So far, the only official confirmation has been given by Benfica.
Benfica revealed in a statement that “Liga Nos and Liga PRO stop indefinitely”. The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) had already decreed this Thursday the suspension of football and futsal competitions that are organized by them. The measure will enter into force on March 13th and will remain “indefinitely”.
The decision to suspend the Campeonato de Portugal (third division), the Liga Nos, Liga PRO and futsal competitions, was made following a meeting with that included members of the league, FPF and players’ union.
