TdP launches a health platform for UK tourists
The platform "Portugal Health Passport" allow tourists to access urgent healthcare for a fixed price in different health units of Hospital da Luz, Lusíadas and CUF.
There is a new platform for private medical services that was specially designed for British tourists in Portugal. The platform “Portugal Health Passport” allow tourists to access urgent healthcare for a fixed price in different health units of Hospital da Luz, Lusíadas and CUF. This platform makes available five Check-up bundles that cover general practice, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology and stomatology.
The platform is available on the website Portugal Health Passport as it is an initiative of Turismo de Portugal and the Health Cluster. This is one of many measures that compose the Portuguese contingency plan to minimise the consequences of a no-deal Brexit on the 31st of November.
To benefit from this range of services, users just need to present their Portugal Health Passport at the hospitals that adhered to this service. In the case of check-ups, appointments must be booked 72 hours before as the clinical results should be available between two and four days after, the Turismo de Portugal (TdP) referred in a statement.
Recall that Britain is the biggest tourism market for Portugal, having sent 1.8M tourists just in 2018. At the beginning of 2019, that number increased by 5.8% to 736,000 tourists relative to the same period of the previous year.
