The Spanish MásMovil together with the Spanish investment fund Gaea acquired the owner of both Nowo and Oni.

The Spanish MásMovil together with the Spanish investment fund Gaea acquired the owner of both Nowo and Oni, according to a public statement of the Portuguese Securities Market Authority (CMVM). No transaction amounts were revealed.

The company to be acquired was Cabonitel, which holds 100% of Nowo that holds 100% of Oni, being managed by the American KKR, according to CMVM.

The Spanish press has already announced in May that KKR was negotiating with MásMovil, which is the fourth-biggest telecom company in Spain,  for that purpose. Recall that it was less than a year ago that KKR bought Nowo and Oni to Apax.

About Gaea, CMVM informs that is a risk capital investment fund held by Inveready that “invests through other funds and entities in companies operating within Spain”.
