After nine trimesters in a row falling, Altice Portugal registered for the first time an increase in its results before taxes. The telecom operator saw its EBITDA rising by 0.4% in the second trimester of 2019 to 213M€, supported by increasing revenues at a moment when the number of optical fibre’s clients reached a million.

“The EBITDA shows a significant tendency of improvement over the last six months as a result of growing revenues, stabilising gross and commercial margins, rigorous control maintenance and discipline on operational costs while benefitting from the effect of an offboarding programme”, the company led by Alexandre Fonseca justifies.

Altice’s EBITDA increased by 0.4% in nominal terms, while registered an increase of 3.3% relative to the previous trimester (the first of 2019).

The operational performance improvement was complemented by increasing revenues both in particular and corporate clients, which has increased by 1.1% to 522M€ relative to the second trimester of 2018.

Regarding market share, Altice claims the leadership of the Portuguese Telcom market “in what regards to net additions”, reaching more than 50% in the second trimester of this year.
