Continental Mabor invests 100M€ in Famalicão

Continental Mabor will reinforce its presence in Portugal. The German multinational will invest around 100M€ by expanding its industrial unit in Famalicão, creating 100 more jobs.

Thanks to this investment, it will be possible to “produce tires for earthmoving and port applications with wheels bigger than 24 inches in diameter”, said the company in a statement.

The new production unit is being instaled “near the production unit of agricultural tires, inaugurated in 2017”. Once it opens and becomes fully operational, this new production unit will be producing “three new models for earthmoving tires and three for port applications”.

By the end of 2018, the German multinational employed 2.150 collaborators.

For Pedro Carreira, Chairman of Continental Mabor, “this new investment reflects once again the trust the shareholders have in the team working in Lousado (Famalicão) and confirms our corporate sustainability strategy”. He added that this investment wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Portuguese government.
