Annual inflation at 0.9% in Portugal, third lowest in the EU

Euro area annual inflation went down from 2.2% to 1.9% in November. EU annual inflation went from 2.2% in October to 2.0%. In Portugal, annual inflation reached 0.9%, up from 0.8% in October.

Annual inflation went down in 25 of the EU member states in November when compared to October, and it remained stable in Denmark, whereas Portugal was the only country in the EU28 in which the rate increased, by 0.1 pp, to 0.9%, according to the Eurostat.

Annual inflation rate decreased to 1.9% in comparison to October in the euro area and it went down to 2.0% in the EU28.

Despite the slight (0.1%) increase registered in November, Portugal still registered the third lowest annual inflation rate in the EU, surpassed only by Ireland (0.8%) and Denmark (0.7%). The highest annual rates were registered in Estonia, Hungary and Romania (all at 3.2%).
