Capital Group sold the 10% they owned from EDP in less than a month. They were the second largest shareholders of the Portuguese utility company.

On the 1st of October, Capital Group, the second largest shareholder of the Portuguese utility company, EDP, had informed the Markets Regulator, CMVM, of its intention of reducing its position in the company.

This Sunday, and only 14 days after that announcement had been made, the market was informed by the company itself that the North-American group had abandoned its shareholding position.

On a note sent to the Portuguese company, the North-American group announced that “on October 10th, 2018, Capital Group’s ownership interest in EDP share capital and voting rights crossed the 2% minimum threshold for qualified shareholding positions and that on the same date it did not hold any position in EDP share capital and voting rights”.
