The Santiago de Compostela-based group acquired a majority stake in the Lisbon-based company and added it to its portfolio. Co-founders Andro Moreira and Hugo Pinto remain partners.

Spain returns to shopping in Portugal. This time it was BI4ALL, a technology company specialising in data strategy, analytics and artificial intelligence, which was acquired by the Plexus Tech group. BI4ALL co-founders Andro Moreira and Hugo Pinto remain partners in the company as part of this deal, which still requires the usual regulatory approvals.

This merger results in a total of 530 professionals in Portugal. “The continuity of the team is assured, expanding service capacity and allowing entry into new accounts with innovative technological solution projects”, the two companies said in a press release issued on Tuesday.

Plexus’ goal in purchasing the majority of BI4ALL’s capital, for an undisclosed amount, is to absorb the technological expertise gained since 2004. “BI4ALL’s know-how and more than 20 years of experience in artificial intelligence [AI] and data technologies will strengthen our structure in these areas”, said Plexus Tech founder and CEO Antonio Agrasar.

“This complementary partnership represents a strategic milestone for BI4ALL. By combining our specialised talent and consolidated experience in data analytics and AI with the size, scale and cross-cutting technological capabilities of Plexus Tech, we are opening the door to new markets and creating the conditions to offer even more innovative solutions and add value to our customers worldwide”, added Andro Moreira and Hugo Pinto.

As for BI4ALL’s portfolio, it gains capabilities in software engineering, cybersecurity, customer satisfaction (Customer First), SAP technology, architecture, and DevOps (development and operations), in addition to the product created internally by the new owners. The Portuguese are also expected to support the company’s growth in Plexus’ 24 offices in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Morocco, Mexico and the United States.

Founded in Santiago de Compostela around 25 years ago, Plexus Tech specialises in information technology services and products and employs more than 4,000 professionals spread across various areas of Spain – from Galicia to the Balearic Islands – working for Lisbon, Porto, Évora, Frankfurt, London, Miami and also Latin America.

BI4ALL is headquartered in Lisbon and has an office in Porto, where it employs around 370 people, mainly dedicated to consulting services for clients in Portugal and international markets, which account for more than 80% of its turnover – such as the United States and the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Benelux regions (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg).
