Santander Totta starts collective dismissal process. 145 workers will leave
In total, the bank Santander Totta will unilaterally terminate contracts with a total of 145 workers.
Santander Totta began notifying this Wednesday the workers who will be covered by the collective dismissal. In total, the bank led by Pedro Castro e Almeida will unilaterally terminate contracts with 145 workers, ECO found it.
These workers will only leave the bank next year, as the normal period of 75 days between the notice of dismissal and its materialisation has to be respected. The last day of work for these employees in Santander will be on January 14 next year.
Until then, the bank will continue to accept friendly terminations, offering more favourable conditions for departures, as the workers affected by this dismissal have been told.
Contacted by ECO about this process, an official source from the bank explained that the “collective dismissal followed its normal course” and that “the employees with whom it was not possible to reach an agreement until today were thus informed of it, having received all the legal documentation required in relation to this process”.
“In any case, until the end of their contract with the bank – 14.01.2022 – it will always be possible to reach an agreement that offers better conditions,” the bank assures.
