Flights, rail, river ferry links with Spain cut due to Covid-19 threat
Eduardo Cabrita, Minister of the Interior, announced that the land borders with Spain will be restored from 11pm Portuguese time.
Air traffic between Portugal and Spain will be suspended as of late Monday afternoon, as well as rail links and the two river links, the Minister of the Interior announced.
“It was decided that air traffic between the two countries would be suspended from the end of today. From today we will not have flights between national airports and Spanish airports,” said Eduardo Cabrita.
In a press conference, the minister said that rail links – like the two river links that exist in the Minho region of the Algarve – would also be suspended.
