Inflation 8.7% in June, highest since December 1992

Consumer price inflation in Portugal accelerated to 8.7% in June, its highest level since December 1992, the National Statistics Institute (INE) estimated in a statement released on Thursday.
In May, the year-on-year rate of change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 8.0%.
According to Thursday’s flash estimate from the institute, “based on the information already collected, the year-on-year rate of change of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased to 8.7% in June (8.0% in May).”
“This is the highest value since December 1992,” it adds.
