Portugal sees 17,019 new cases, 36 Covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, 2,560 people are hospitalized on Monday, 49 more than on Sunday.

Portugal has recorded 17,019 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the last 24 hours, 36 more deaths associated with Covid-19 and a new increase in hospitalisations, indicates the health authority (DGS).

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, 2,560 people are hospitalized on Monday, 49 more than on Sunday, while in intensive care units there are two less, a total of 178, and not all hospitalizations are due to Covid-19, and may be motivated by other pathologies despite the existence of infection with SARS-CoV-2.

The number of active cases fell again today, to 608,147, 20,663 less than on Sunday, and in the last 24 hours, 37,646 people were reported recovered, bringing the total to 2,304,585.
