ANA will pay €2.75 billion to the State until 2063

In the concession contract signed in 2012, it was defined that from the 11th year of privatisation, ANA has to share part of the revenue with the State.

ANA-Aeroportos will pay €2.75 billion to the State between 2024 and 2063, the year in which the concession ends, according to Público on Monday.

The amount in the State Budget for 2023 stipulates that the company that manages airports in Portugal will pay €8 million in 2024 for the previous year, an amount that will increase annually to €146 million in 2063. In the concession contract signed in 2012, it was defined that from the 11th year of privatisation, ANA has to share part of the revenue with the State.

Between 2013 and 2021, the ANA group generated a turnover of €4.94 billion and a profit of 1.11 million. Last year, the company returned to positive results (25.3 million) after a €72.1 million loss the previous year because of the pandemic.
