Howden M&A advises Icade Santé on Saúdeinvest portfolio acquisition

Howden, through its Lisbon M&A team, advised the French group Icade Santé on the acquisition of Fidelidade’s Real Estate Investment Fund (SaúdeInveste), which owns real estate assets including the Lusíadas hospitals. The broker provided support in the placement of a Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) insurance policy for the transaction.

The value of the deal transferring the fund to Icade Santé amounted to €213 million and was one of the largest real estate transactions in the Portuguese market last year, the insurance brokerage notes. The use W&I solutions in Portugal “is a rising trend, both on real estate and operational deal”. The Howden team has been “very active in advising clients on large transactions in the Portuguese market, not only on W&I, but also to secure cover for specific risks such Tax, Title or Environmental,” says the company.
