598 new cases and one death by Covid-19 in Portugal

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has had 847,604 cases and 17,023 deaths from Covid-19.

There are 598 new cases of coronavirus compared to Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 847,604. Two people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 246  inpatients, 72 of them in intensive care units (ICU). There are over 15,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 17,023 people, one of them in the last 24 hours.
